IT IS GOOD BUT
This helps to keep body overweight at bay-which is a lovely thing.
With the above being said, as they age-especially if they have been training since they were teenagers-we do must make some concessions.
How so?
Well, of the main things they can control is what they eat.
Or.
And this is what I mean by concessions.
More to the point-what they do not eat.
The power of youth.
For example, for those of us who are reading this-who shall they say-like me are not so young any more-we can all keep in mind eating mostly junk food, overtraining like crazy-and somehow they still managed to make gains.
The effect of not doing this can be body overweight gain-which is not good-no matter what age they are.
But as they age, those junk food days need to be restricted and what eat needs to be monitored more closely.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT
For my money the best way to stay lean as they age is to continue to train as hard as they can-and yes do some kind of cardio.
Then when they sit down to eat they must focus on taking in only the highest quality foods.
Things like skinless chicken breasts, turkey and lean beef ought to make up the bulk of the protein they take in for muscle growth and repair.
Although, I still like my whole eggs.
As far as carbohydrates, they ought to eat of them to fuel the training that they do-and a small more for growth and repair-and that is it.
Plenty of things like, kale, broccoli, spinach, yams, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, peppers and the like.

The sources ought to be as natural as feasible.
For example, in case you say work at physical job eight to twelve hours per day, then of coursework your carbohydrate level-and you overall calorie level will be WAY higher than that of someone who has a table job.
Depending on your metabolism and activity level other sources of carbohydrates could include things like pasta and rice-but again this ought to be based on your activity level.
Other lovely fats include natural peanut and seeds.
As for fats, they ought to be chiefly from fatty fish like sardines or in case you do not like fish you ought to take a top quality fish oil supplement.
A POINT
Again, keep in mind, the above is a guide, not a unalterable plan.
In case you know from experience that, say, you work better on higher fats-do it.
In case you know that you will not-no matter what-eat a yam-do not worry about it.
Let me finish by saying this-do what you know you will do.
This way, you will do it everyday-and doing things on a regular basis is the only way you are going to reap the benefits of something-be it training cardio or eating.
